With readings by Charlotte Baldwin and guest poet Emma Simon, and live sketching in response to the poems by Zahra Quadri.

With My Lips Pressed to the Ear of the Earth is a love letter to planet Earth, her vast family of creatures and the strange, funny and heart-breaking experience of being part of a family in the 21^st century. From explorations of meat-guilt to loneliness, fungi and exotic pets, the poems haul reader into surreal but convincing worlds which invite us to reflect on our relationship with the natural world.

About Charlotte Baldwins

Charlotte Baldwin works on a national project supporting young people’s mental health and as a creative writing tutor & dogwalker. As Gypsy Rose Poetry, she travels round London visiting people living in isolation to talk about their lives and write poems for them.

Her poetry has been longlisted in the National Poetry Competition and has appeared in the Elements anthology from Fawn Press, The North, Under the Radar, Shearsman, Lighthouse and Tears in the Fence, among others. In 2019 she was featured in Islands Are But Mountains, an anthology of the best new contemporary poetry from the United Kingdom published by Platypus Press.
